We had a major disaster where our old dishwasher started to leak causing thousands of dollars of damage to our hardwood floor. I decided that this would not happen to me again. Bought this and a dishwasher safe plastic pan that sits under the dishwasher. Place the sensor in the pallet you just bought. It doesn't take much water to get the sensor to close the valve. It's easy to turn off the water when I'm out of town. I love the security this item offers.
