I had this brilliant idea that I would try to give my little one more nutrients by buying a juicer as he currently eats a limited amount of vegetables. I didn't want to spend too much because who knows if this phase will last and I don't want to put him on juice (although it's good for you) as a food source. So after studying juicers, I decided that a simple centrifuge would suit us. Based on what others have said here, this juicer seemed pretty good for the average home user and affordable too. It does have a few downsides, and my downsides seem to echo what others have said: Yes, it's LOUD. It's louder than people even described in their reviews. If you plan on making juice late at night when your kids are in bed and their room is near the kitchen, I would wait until everyone is up. Our son's room is on the second floor, but we have a two-story family room with half a wall in the hallway upstairs, so there is some noise. There's no way I'm going to use this after he's gone to bed. Mug - 32 ounce mug. I only made about half that amount and the juice sloshed around that mark a bit. It doesn't matter much, but it adds to the clutter. Capacity - I made apple carrot juice and had to slice the carrots. Again, nothing special, but you definitely won't fit a whole apple in here. For his first flight, I made an apple and carrot juice out of two medium apples and three small to medium carrots and got about 16 ounces. Juice, which I don't think is bad at all. There was no more liquid in the pulp, but there was a TON of pulp. Having never owned a juicer before, I have no comparison. Cleaning is very easy if you do it right away. Didn't really need a lot of soap just hot water and the basket was pretty easy to clean. I've heard that some other brands like Breville had baskets that were a nightmare to clean, but with a small brush and some soap I was able to get 99% of the pulp out of the container. My husband was happy to provide his air compressor for any leftover debris. Another reason I chose this juicer is that, as far as I can tell, I'm 95% confident that the plastic is BPA-free. Most of the others looked like they had polycarbonate in them, which may not bother you, but it does bother me. I would have preferred something completely stainless, but this one fits the bill perfectly. Overall this is a really good juicer for the money. If you can handle a little noise and a few drops of juice, this is great for a mid-sized juicer.
