Complaints about bite valves lead me to believe that people push their teeth too far onto the valve. For maximum flow you need teeth at the very end of the valve. Finally, the cap and opening are the same as a Nalgene wide-mouth bottle and can be screwed onto an MSR filter. This hydration pouch is great, especially for $10. Renew after 3 trips. I still think it's a great value. There's something to be said for cylinders that can be flipped over for cleaning, but they cost three times as much. I only wash and dry thoroughly when I'm done with it.
