I have had this rug for a long time and honestly I bought it because of the negative cleaning reviews, if it were easy to clean I would think it shouldn't pick up any rubbish. Overall we are very happy with this mat, yes cleaning takes a bit of extra effort but it's not impossible and really only takes a few minutes than usual, with the right vacuum I didn't have to take it outside and hit it to clean it. As they say it's not waterproof and I wasn't expecting it if you're looking for a good litter mat this seems like a very good product as our two cats are dirty. It won't catch all the dirt (I doubt any product will, especially my two), but it will greatly reduce the amount of dirt strewn across the floor.
