The installation of my old Seagate 2TB mechanical drive went smoothly and without incident. Be sure to check out the add-on card that came with the drive, which highlights that you need to make sure the SATA connector lines up with the connector in the case and under the rubber grommet. The case makes a solid and quite shockproof impression. The cable fits snugly around the perimeter of the case. I got sustained writes at around 75MB per second, which is the limit this old mechanical drive will run at. I haven't tested it with an SSD, so I can't say how fast it will be with such a drive. Windows 7 recognized the drive immediately and installed the correct drivers for it. good value for money and helps protect the drive, especially an old mechanical one like mine. Edit - Also suitable for Win 10.
