I needed bookshelves for my home library. I wanted something with a ladder on wheels, but they were THOUSANDS of dollars. I also couldn’t find any cheap bookshelves for less than $80. I’ve used these types of shelves in my basement in the past and they are sturdy.The ebay shelves have a locking mechanism, where my older shelves just had a metal four out the shelf support slips into. These are much safer. HOWEVER, the metal on the top and bottom is sharp. You get caps to put on so do that first! The only hard part was connecting the top and bottom legs with the middle shelf.It would be easier to set up with a second person. But not required. I had help for three of the four I put together. It took about 30 minutes to open the box, put the shelves together, move them, and cut up the four boxes.
