Many years ago I saw this video online of someone building a portable air conditioner using a cheap ice filled radiator, then cutting a hole and attaching PVC pipe attached to the fan to the radiator . The concept was interesting but it looked like a ghetto. When this portable fan came out, we knew it would work. It was like this. It's rechargeable, so there's no need for a nearby outlet. The air isn't as cold as a real air conditioner, but it does the job and blows much colder than a regular ice water fan. I've used it several times under an umbrella next to the grill and the cool air from this tiny fan has kept me cool.
