First of all, I love cleaning our hard floors. We have ceramic tile in four rooms, vinyl in one room, and laminate in one room. We have two Persian cats, one of which eats wet food and drips on the floor in two rooms. Dry wet cat food is almost like glue, and with other mops I would have to bend down and scrape the cat food off the floor with my fingernail. We also have chickens and I carry mud on my shoes from outside to the house several times. I used to use sponge mops, Swiffer floor mops with disposable pads, and most recently a Rubbermaid Reveal spray mop with washable pads for about five years. Because of the sticky cat food on the floor, I wanted a device that would clean it up for me. I researched different types of rotating brushes but they didn't give the desired result. Since I have two cats in the house and chickens outside, the first thing I do in every room is wipe the floor dry. Then I vacuum the same floor again to make sure I don't spread dirt when mopping the floor. Also, I use a homemade floor cleaner consisting primarily of 2 cups of rubbing alcohol, a teaspoon of Dawn dish soap, and a small amount of ammonia in a 1 gallon container and add water. This solution removes grease and disinfects at the same time. It dries very quickly. Some electric floor cleaners will tell you to use their cleaning fluid or it will damage the device, but SWDK's cordless hand mop doesn't. I just pour water in the SWDK block fountain and pour about a glass of my homemade cleaner on the floor; then i place the device with the nozzle in the puddle and continue wiping. It soaks up the solution and cleans the floors for me, and all I have to do is guide it as it glides nicely when it's on. When I need some moisture on the pad, I spray water out of the device. With 1000 vibrations per minute pad action he gets about 90% sticky cat food. The LED lights on the front are great for seeing places I may have missed. It is easy. I can edit all my floors without running out of power. When I'm done, I turn it on until the three lights stop blinking and save it for next time. I've learned to move the terry pad around the outer corners to get closer to the woodwork and the vibrating pad penetrates into very small spots to pick up dirt. I find that a terry heavy duty mopping pad works best on outside corners and around doors and has cleaning fiber strips (which they don't mention) that are clean for you. The only thing I don't like about it is that the width doesn't allow me to get into small areas or corners, but those aren't usually high traffic areas and I've already dried the moped and vacuumed of dust, dirt, or cat hair. I highly recommend the SWDK cordless hand wiper, it's well worth the price.
