When the Orbi system works, it works great. But unfortunately it usually causes me problems. I am very familiar with network protocols. I don't understand why this product just randomly decides to be useless. I've tried everything. Switch channels, switch settings. I can always get it to work, but it's just a problem and I can't trust it to be reliable. When I first got it, I called customer service for help resolving a connection issue with the Ring Doorbell. They couldn't fix it but were polite and helpful. But after 3 months, a firmware update released by Netgear caused serious problems. The thing didn't work for 5 minutes. So I called official Netgear support for help. They said I had to pay $90 to buy help from them. I freaked out and claimed they caused a firmware update issue. They still insisted on a credit card number to change me "if they could prove the problem isn't firmware or hardware related". I kept arguing until they agreed to "make a one-time exception" and not charge me. We rolled back the firmware. There are so many other products on the market. I would happily spend a few bucks more to get a product with better support. It was a stupid Black Friday buy on my behalf.
