If you have the same feeling of flat feet as I do, you most likely need insoles in these skates. I put the skate on for the first time and it was extremely uncomfortable as the middle part of the skate is too tight. I wear orthotics when I play hockey so I thought it was the same and I was right. I brought the "Heavy Duty" dr shol insole and healed the middle one - Too tight at the foot part. Now they work great and my feet don't hurt. The insole rests on an ultra-narrow midsole and your food sits on top. You can also tighten the skate much better with the insole.
