I have a home hairstylist and many years of experience so I know my business. I have very difficult hair and other highly rated products (Reuzel, Layrite, Flagship, Grim Grease, Uppercut etc.) cannot control my mane at all. Let's start with simple things. The smell is very pleasant, almost sweet like cologne. Easy cleanup is what you would expect from an orthodox water lipstick; You can easily wash off this lipstick with water. For meat. The fixation is great. Like I said, I have incredibly thick curly hair and anything less than insane holding power wouldn't work at all. Literally every unorthodox water base I've used hasn't held my hair, so an orthodox water base is my only chance. This material holds up very well. Seriously, this is amazing. Unfortunately I have several complaints. This lipstick is pretty thick even by OWB standards. It's not that easy to apply, but it's still orders of magnitude better than any UWB or oil base. The finish is prone to streaks and stains. It really put me off at first, but it's really just a learning curve. Play with it a bit and see what works for you and you can actually reduce it and get a pretty solid medium shine. The last problem I have is intolerance to heat. This lipstick softens very quickly and loses its hold when exposed to a lot of heat and sun. This is usually only a problem on very, very hot days with temperatures above 30°C or very long periods of sunshine. After cooling, however, it hardens again. In summary, the Rocky Mountain Pomade is not easy to work with, but it is an absolutely top-notch product that deserves recognition. It requires some experience but is worth the money. It took some of the most popular lipsticks out of the water in every way.
