Review on πŸ”Œ Trans-Dapt Performance 2044 Carburetor Adapter by Ralph Gerry

Will not fit carburetor manifold for 300i6 (pre 1986 factory inlet manifold)

First of all it will not fit Ford 300i6 with factory carbureted inlet manifold, despite what it says it will fit. The manifold studs are about 1/8" wider on each side (1/4" overall), so you'll need to drill 3/8" to 1/2" holes to make it work. This, of course, causes the screw heads to stick out further from the center. This caused no play issues on my Autolite 2100 carburetor. The carburetor was still able to fully open the butterflies without contact. That way you can be pretty sure you have fuel in the drilling area. To prevent fuel from eating my gasket because it sits in the other half of the hole (because you have to drill further leaving an open space), I decided to use JB-Weld high temp welding on the open area, and I hope this works long term. Second. I am incredibly upset about this horrible casting. It's SO bumpy. I ended up taking a dremel with a sanding attachment and cleaned it up. It's Rough when you take it out of the box. They definitely didn't even try to smooth this thing out. There was no polishing or smoothing. Just throw a piece and send. But there are also positives! The faces are definitely milled. You will not be concerned with vacuum leaks from this adapter. Also, the mounting holes on the 2bbl side are perfect for an Autolite 2100 carb or anything with the same bolt pattern. If I had to guess, I'd say the single barrel side is closer to the Chrysler Slant 6 bolt pattern. I hope this information helps anyone with questions. This is a good product if it really fits your application. Except for some rough surfaces inside. But if you put 2 barrels on a 1 barrel manifold, you definitely don't have to worry about it not being as smooth as silk. Not exactly performance.

Cons
