first wash: the shampoo dried my hair a bit, but after rinsing it was super soft. If you read both products you'll see that it clearly says the shampoo PROTECTS the color while the conditioner says it adds color "gradually" so be realistic and don't expect your hair to fade one wash is super red. I leave the conditioner in my hair for 10 minutes and YES it gets a little red. I renew them next time I wash, but so far I'm completely satisfied, both products smell delicious.
