As a bachelor I had a lot of quality cookware and devoted myself to this. I bought the 10 piece T-Fal set when I first started teaching my kids to cook and have never regretted my decision. The pans heat up well and nothing sticks. (Well, at least if you wash them. Eggs sometimes stick if you cook them without oil.) The surface is very durable. But I don't hit them with metal implements either. (Wood and plastic only in my house.) I use a metal whisk all the time with no side effects. If you have reasonable expectations, this cookware will serve you well. If you're expecting the same performance as high-end products, you're A) wrong B) not very smart. C) Super curmudgeon.
