Our problem was a cat that came through the top fence into our yard and drove our house cat so crazy that she sprayed our furniture and floors to mark her territory. It's been a long journey, but I bought a roll, cut it lengthwise into three, and then cut those strips in half. I attached these strips to the top of the railing at strategic points, including some corners. Then I started waiting. Finally I saw the cat walking around and then, faced with this new phenomenon in his daily life, he sniffed it. He put his paw on it and pulled it away. Then, completely undeterred, he walked the whole strip. There is no such thing as a failed experiment. Just an accumulation of knowledge and a waste of time and money.
