I've had a Stylus Photo 780 for just under a year when I started to smear the ink badly. I did a deep cleaning and then replaced all the cartridges, but that didn't fix the problem. I ended up just putting the Epson in the garage because I got a new computer that came with the Canon S520 printer. The difference between Canon and Epson is like night and day. Both print beautiful photos, but with Canon it's much easier and faster. When I first got my Epson, it literally took me weeks to experiment with different print settings to figure out which ones worked best. It's that easy with Canon. Basically, you just install the Canon of your choice: High Quality, Standard Quality, or Draft. and the printer does the rest. Epson is SO confusing with the billions of different things you can install. With Canon, you simply print out your photos in high quality and you're done. And it prints MUCH faster than Epson. I'm just used to waiting minutes for each printout with my Epson. But when I printed my first high quality photo with Canon and it came out so quickly, I was blown away. Check out the Canon S520 or other more expensive Canon models and I really think you're doing yourself a favour.
