I'm sure it will be fine for my purposes, but there are a few oddities. Cooling can be an issue as the only vents are on the bottom of the device. Which wouldn't be a problem, except that the rubber feet that set the device apart from what it's standing on are no more than a quarter of an inch high. There isn't much wiggle room. I am planning to use a cooling platform at home but see this as a problem in the field. The power connector that plugs into the PC isn't exactly reliable and is shorter than other laptop connectors I've seen. It feels like something could easily break and maybe take the power connector with it. Also, the stone at the end of the power cord is two and a half inches square, one inch thick on all sides, and the two prongs are slightly offset at one end. This can be a problem with some outlets and extension cords. It has less unnecessary software than usual (at first glance), but there are a few games I can't uninstall and it has a terrible, resource-hungry Norton security system. luxury on it. Luckily you can do without. All this on the first day of use. I could change that if needed.
