Review on Clean and Crisp: APEC 5 Stage Reverse Drinking Water Filter by Tim Harrington

Of course I have some DIY experience, but compared to other water filtration systems I've installed (Jacuzzi, AO Smith) this was the easiest. Instructions are clear and detailed. Another note on the plumbing/setup part that I liked: the hot tub system I had previously required you to run the faucet for 24 hours on first use and with each filter change. . Let me tell you that the sound of a dripping faucet gets pretty annoying after a while! This requires you to fill the tank only once (it took two hours), empty it (5 minutes) and refill it. I had to do this again to completely get rid of the grayish water from the first cycle, but at no point in the process did I have to leave the faucet on and listen to it drip, drip, drip, like a jacuzzi. 1. In terms of water pressure, Whirlpool outperforms APEC in this regard, but not by much. This one still fills a 20-ounce bottle of water in 10 seconds. The AO Smith system I had would take 30 seconds for the same water bottle, while the hot tub takes around 5 seconds. However, it's worth noting that the hot tub and this one were installed in two different houses, so the water pressure was likely different. The water finally tastes fantastic! Much better than AO Smith or Whirlpool systems. And it's crystal clear. At first I noticed what looked like particles floating around, but discovered they were actually tiny air bubbles from the filtration process. They will disappear after a few moments. Overall, having used a few different brands, I will be sticking with APEC for the foreseeable future. I can tell just from the packaging/instructions/design that these systems are well thought out and have an attention to detail that others don't have. Also, it seems like their support team is actively responding to Revain customers, which makes a difference too!
