Review on πŸš— Safety 1st Guide 65 Convertible Car Seat, Chambers: Top-notch Safety and Convenience for Your Child by Buffy Nystrom

Great seat for the price!

We bought these as a second seat for our daughters. They are very light. In general, I like them for our purposes. We don't plan on moving them from car to car (we use our Britax for that) as they are quite difficult to install. If you must use a seat belt and don't have a locking mechanism, you will need a locking clip (I bought the Diono because it was the only one I could find that was crash tested). Also, pool noodles, a towel, or car seat towels (I bought a Diono because I don't have pool noodles) are often needed for a fairly tight, rear-facing setup. Advantages Super low price Very light Convenient Easy detach strap for installation. There are three buckle holes in the crotch so you can choose the most comfortable position, which is helpful for older children. Don't use it - Comes with a cup holder - Relatively small. We can mount it in our Nissan Versa 08 hatchback in both the most sloping and least sloping positions, facing backwards. We used Britax which we still like but works better in a smaller car. We also tried the safety of the elite's first alpha omega and this thing was TERRIBLE for the rear view because it ended up banging our knees against the dash and I'm only 5ft 6in tall. With that, my 6'3 husband is still not optimally comfortable, but much more comfortable than he was with our Britax. If you have a small car, great! Cons - Small hole for rear facing seat belt (does not fit large hands) - A bit difficult to put on. To tighten it enough with the locking system, you have to pull, lean on it, and hop around a bit to tighten it tight enough. - The straps twist quite easily and want to twist into the holes that the seat belt goes through. on the seat. They also tend to twist at the buckles, but if you're careful this is easy to avoid. I definitely recommend getting familiar with the pool noodle method before attempting to install it. I couldn't have done it safely without her. All in all it met our needs and I was really impressed with the price. If you know how to use it safely, it can definitely be done well! If you need to move it from car to car a lot, I wouldn't recommend this one.
