I have to say. Most reviews confirm that this does indeed remove the "ammonia" smell. I had a HUGE problem with my clothes smelling of ammonia after washing and sweating again after washing. My gym clothes didn't smell until I started sweating in them. This cleaner will definitely help me with this problem. Just know that your clothes won't smell like anything when you use it. There is no added fragrance (to my knowledge) which will most likely make the wash stronger and more concentrated. I've tried using this detergent with Oxy Clean detergent to give it a fresh laundry scent, but it literally comes out of the wash with no smell. Maybe it really just smells like the washing machine I used. I use fabric softener sheets when drying and it works but the smell is very faint. .I personally use 1.25 cups of this detergent and 1/2 cup of Oxy Clean detergent (heavy duty machine, heavily soiled, medium to large load). This combination works for me. TIP 2: Remember to turn clothes inside out when washing. I'm not sure if this really helps, but I've read that others do it and that it gives them better results. I've tried both ways and I think I'm biased towards turning my clothes inside out because others have said so. It works for me, so I'll stick with it. Hope you get the same results as me. Much luck.
