One of my pets has allergies to the environment including dust mites and his dermatologist recommended that we steam clean the floor and furniture to help him until the allergy shots worked as he reacted poorly to medication. -Advantages: It is an easy-to-use product. I was able to assemble it and have it ready to go in five minutes; The pads are nice and thick and glide easily on both the carpet (with a glider) and the hard floor. The device itself is lightweight and looks well made. We've tested it on tile and sealed hardwoods. Great! -Problem: It doesn't heat up properly. Or I have a defective device. Anyway, I'll wrap it up and send it back, which sucks because I really wanted to love it differently. Is he a vaper? Yes, at least I can see some water vapor. But I can also touch the just "cleaned" surface and the center of the pad with my bare fingers. The floor isn't even warm and the toast was hotter than a washcloth. Needless to say, I don't understand how we should disinfect with this steamer when the steam is barely warm at "Max Steam". As a result, the dirt does not really rise. After that I walked the floor with my Bona mop and the upholstery for the Bona was disgusting and 4 times dirtier. I would suggest that if I clean up, the second pass will be LESS dirt, not more. So sorry for Hoover, but it definitely wasn't a hit. I'll try Bissell instead.
