I used to have oval elastic spikes for the soles of my boots but they didn't always stay in place. So I did some research and bought this product. It has a velcro strap at the top that keeps boot spikes secure. The back has extra elastic and a tongue that also holds the heal well. My shoe size is women's 8 and the range was 6-8. It took a good amount of tension to cover my size 8 boot. but so i love that they fit! I will be buying three more sets so I don't have to take them out of my various winter shoes/boots. At this price I get 3-4 pairs instead of a pair for $40 which is not much different for me.
