I've been really into retro computing lately. But in 2020, fiddling with tiny floppy disks is no fun at all. Bad sectors, dirty drives, it's just not the best experience. Enter this thing. It makes it easy to turn any old USB drive into 1000 floppy disks and just press a button to switch between them. It works on any old PC or other devices that use floppy disks for storage (synths, etc.). Some notes on the firmware installed by default on the device: * Software to use the device. interesting and a bit annoying. * This only applies to Windows. * Only works with DOS and DOS-enabled devices. That being said, it's trivial to flash replacement firmware onto this device that will turn it into absolute POWER (FlashFloppy, Google it). It requires VERY little soldering skills (my toddler could probably do it) and a USB AA cable like this: https://www.amazon.com/Rankie-Cable-Type-1-Pack-Feet/ dp/ B01KRO8D20/ With firmware replacement you get:* MUCH easier control from virtually anywhere, Mac, Linux, Windows etc.* Ability to use with other older devices such as Amigas.* Can easily replace a basic LCD display with a full-featured OLED screen, again with LITTLE soldering skills. Overall, tremendous value for money even if you just keep the stock firmware.
