Nice concept but just doesn't work
Cup holder is too small and flat to be very useful. The surface of the tray is very smooth and anything you put in it will slide and rattle like crazy. The tray is big enough for the iPhone to lay flat (although not the maximum), but when connected to USB the cable doesn't let it lie flat and the phone just slides out when you turn. In terms of stability, it might work great in some cars, but in my 2021 civilian car, the gap between the console and the seat isn't narrow enough to make this thing strong enough to use. Put a drink on it and it will fall instantly.
