I bought three of these to use as extra cameras on my sailboat to capture video during the race. My main camera is a GoPro Hero 3 Black. It's not GoPro quality in terms of video or audio, but for $30 they make great b-roll video sources. Just a few quirks: 1. They have a permanent date/time stamp in the lower left corner of the image that is recorded in the video stream. I haven't found a way to turn this off and ask Craig a question about it. I suspect it cannot be turned off. Sometimes manufacturers of cheap Chinese electronics make such stupid decisions.2. The sound pickup is pretty bad, very low sensitivity. It's not a problem for me as I don't use the sound in most situations.3. The "Menu" button should actually be renamed to the "Set clock" button as it appears to be used for just that4. The user manual says "monitor mode" but I can't put my cameras in this mode and I'm not entirely sure what this mode is for. The webcam mode works well with my Macbook Pro (OS X 10.10. Again, this is not a problem for me as I will not be using this as a webcam.6. The maximum size of the SD card they can write to is 32G cards. This is most likely because they do not support the exFAT file system format used by cards larger than 32GB, which is proprietary and licensed by Microsoft. On the plus side, the cards work fine on my Mac and Videos and photos can be imported into iPhoto and played without any issues Low light performance is pretty poor, you really need to be outdoors to get the best image quality from this camera All in all it's worth $30 if you are looking for additional cameras for your outdoor adventures.
