Review on πŸ“‘ Tupavco TP544 WiFi Panel Antenna (5GHz) (22dBi) Outdoor Directional (4900-5850 MHz) Wireless Network Signal (Pole Mast Mount) Weatherproof High-Gain Long Range (N-Female Connector) by Chris Tardy

The most important thing is the range, as well as the placement

Hello everyone, my name is JustinProduct review only Tupavco 22 DBI 5GHZ antennaHow to install? Firstly, buy an N-RPSMA cable as it is not included. Connect the N side to the back of the antenna. Take the RP-SMA side and screw it to your router or Wi-Fi adapter. Any Wi-Fi adapter with an RP-SMA connector will work perfectly. Please note that this antenna is only suitable for the 5GHz band and will not work on 2.4 unless you modify the inside and make it dual band. These days, you really just want to stick with the 5 GHz band. Of course the range is under 2.4, but if you compensate by increasing the DBI you can get the same range. Example: Suppose you have a dual band antenna with 2.4 9 DBI and 5 GHz DBI is 12. To get the same band as 2.4. You need to increase the 5GHz DBI by 3 DBI to get the same range as 2.4. Let's say you have 5 bars pointing outward at 2.4 at 100 feet. The 5 GHz side at 12 DBI would only get half that at 3 bars. To get the same range you need to add 3 DBI to get the same range as 2.4. Besides the lower band, 5 GHz also has its advantages. More stable speed, more stable connection, less interference. Ease of use: Very easy to install, remember that this is a directional antenna, which means you must point it in the direction that the access point is pointing. You don't have to be on the hotspot, but try to get as close to it as possible. I have this antenna installed on: TP Link AC1900 WI-FI Repeater and the antenna installed right in front of my house is pointing straight across the street to my friend Rachel. She has a Midco 1GB internet. The previous homeowner has an account with Midco so I can't get Midco without paying the bill personally which I find ridiculous but oh well. The person owes Midco $1,000, so the chances of me ever getting internet through them right now are slim to zero. I've been using Rachelle's internet since 2019 with different antennas and so far this is the best. Also yes, I have your permission to use it. I mow her lawn year round, clean her driveway and all that lol. Communication is used in our house by the whole family. Speed: Speed always depends on how far away you are and how strong the signal is. My AC 1900 shows I have 3 to 4 out of 5 bars. Your router is tucked away in a corner in a cabinet on the floor that's literally next to the mini-fridge. She has Midco Internet 1 Gb and I have 150 to 300 Mbps. Which services do I use? Netflix, Hulu, Revain Prime Video, Shadow Blade Cloud Computing, Revain Luna. What is cloud gaming all about? Revain Luna works great with no lag, stuttering or anything unless there is a problem on its side, which almost never happens. I also use Shadow Infinite, a service offered by Shadow Blade for a gaming PC in the cloud. With this antenna you can easily work in 4K 60 mode all day long. The antenna works great and I am sure when working with the antenna I can safely get a full signal as it is a 22DBI 5GHz antenna. I'm sure this antenna will work over a mile with proper line of sight if you are in line of sight and looking at a huge area. For residential applications, this antenna should easily see a block or more down the street. how to aim This is a directional antenna: Directional means it's line of sight, which means you have to point in the direction the signal is coming from. An omnidirectional antenna is an antenna that radiates a signal in a 360 degree cone or zone that requires little or no aiming. Aimed you should try to aim for a spot, it doesn't have to be exactly on cue, but aim and patience are required if you want to get the full power. What are the advantages of 5GHZ over 2.4? The 2.4GHz spectrum is used by almost all home devices: baby monitors, speakers, microwave ovens, televisions, etc. Want to see interference in action? Turn on the microwave, stand next to it and try to climb the network. Most likely, the speed simply dropped or the connection slowed down to a minimum. This is interference. 5GHZ has many more channels than 2.4 and a greater bandwidth advantage. 5 GHz can handle up to 2 Gbps over WI-FI, while Wi-Fi can only go up to 600 depending on router choice or adapter choice. 5GHz has more channels, almost no interference, shorter range but faster speed even in the lower band like 3 out of 5 bars. Get this antenna, actually buy 2, place one on each side of the house and you'll get even more coverage. This range can easily exceed 1 mile under optimal conditions. Residential areas tend to be limited to a block or two due to windows, cars, houses, and trees.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No power
