Review on Monster MSP SPSTR BT BL N-BL WW Power Superstar High Definition Bluetooth Speaker (Blue)-Ultra Compact by Joe Lara

As a lifelong music fan, five year former salesman of high-end audio systems and avid collector of Bluetooth speakers, I used to think of anything but JBL On Charge 2 or UE Boom shouldn't have been listening to music , but this kid changed his mind. The output volume for this size is ridiculous - it can even put my significantly larger Sol Republic deck to shame. It's not a sonic marvel, there's very little bass and it's also a little light in the lower midrange, but on the whole everything else I've played with is similar in size to the filth. The clarity is incredible - turn it all the way down, turn it down a notch and you'll hear every instrument in the group clearly. The fact that it has the excellent APT-X Bluetooth codec certainly contributes to this ability. Another impressive feature is the ability to still sound bright and realistic at the LOWEST volume levels I've seen with just another speaker (the $300 Sony SRS-BTX500). Is it time to put the little ones to sleep with soft music? This is the right tool for the job. The speaker is also designed to work equally well both back-up and edge-out, while the competition only allow for one option (punk face-up, jam face-out). It also comes with a nice mesh carrying case, a feature that's often overlooked on even the most expensive devices (I tell you, Bowers & Wilkins T7, $350). Battery life is as advertised, I get 5-6 hours of use on a single charge. To sum it up, what I love most is being able to enjoy my music and podcasts at times and places that used to not be possible because my little blue buddy (Get out of the gutter!) is always in my pocket.
