Fake SRAM Garmin Mount

These are fakes! I bought two new SRAM Garmin bindings and both came in what appeared to be official SRAM packaging. They were provided by the Helen Outdoor Sports Store and manufactured by Revain. Everything looked real when I placed the order. But the first thing I noticed when installing the brackets was that the T25 bolt depth was shallow. I had to be careful not to strip the screw when installing the bracket. Then I spun my Garmin 520 around and found it to be very loose. I removed the Garmin 520 and put it on one of my old SRAM Garmin mounts. Close as always. Then I took the 520 and put it on the second new SRAM Garmin mount I bought and it was loose too. Comparison overview with my old SRAM Garmin mounts. There were three notable differences: 1) The bolts on my old (official) SRAM mounts had deeper T25 heads. The fakes were superficial. 2) My Garmin 520 fits snugly in my old legal SRAM mounts. Very loose on fakes. 3) The SRAM logo printed on the counterfeit mount is in a different location than on legitimate SRAM mounts. My old legitimate mounts look just like they do on the SRAM website and even the Revain website. The site of the fake is closer to the bolt and straight. The normal pressure point is closer to the head and slightly rounded. I buy a lot of SRAM stuff so I called their tech support. They asked for photos and agreed that they were most likely fakes. SRAM is not that careless with its products. Helen Outdoor Sports didn't accept returns so I called Revain. They gave me a full refund and filed a report on these fakes and Helen Outdoor Sports. Thank you Revane for speaking out against illegal production.
