You need to make sure you push them deep enough so you can pull the circles out when you rotate from behind and let them act as a stopper so they don't slide back onto the front of the seat (remember how you would close your pants) Once you fasten the top strap under the headrest, done! There are also additional metal clips (they aren't really clips per se) that attach to the bottom loops next to the bottom pocket for added security.
