This is the weirdest radio I've ever had and I think it's because of Prunus' performance of 'analog radio' which used a DSP chip , failed miserably. If you have a strong station, it will appear on both AM and FM at 5 different points on the watch face, grouped around its broadcast frequency. Any small, underpowered stations are simply swept away by the wide coverage this Prunus J-05 radio offers to a powerful station. So forget about selectivity. When you find that little station, the mighty station is between the two dots on the dial. This is an absolute disadvantage of the J-05. Working with DX under such a load is impossible if your radio is occupied by nearby and powerful stations. This is very bad because this radio is very sensitive. If you're not struggling with powerful blowtorches, this radio can wind them up. Too bad the sensitivity is lost due to the complete lack of selectivity. This radio could be a lot better. With strong stations, the speaker is loud. But no trace of bass. One would think a loud 3.5-inch speaker would at least be a clue. It uses 3D cells and has a power cord so you don't waste batteries. But when it is switched on, the volume decreases, especially with weak stations. Strange. You can barely see the dial gauge it's buried so deep in the radio. And it's not exact, just a bad approximation. Weather range is a plus and when used with a D cell the J-05 becomes a basic emergency radio. At the current price of just under $30, there are better radios out there. there should be a real radio. The Prunus J-05 is too compromised when there are other better radios out there. Much cheaper. And many whose watch face gives only one dot on the watch face for each radio station. I wanted this radio to like it and I still can, but that will only be because I'm used to its odd way of tuning and can fix it on lower powered stations. Update: I couldn't get over the many flaws with this radio and ended up sending it back to Revane. Goodbye forever! I ordered and received a Panasonic RF-2400D for a few dollars less and was able to enjoy my radio again rather than rethinking the Prunus J-05's many flaws. Sayonara! Haha!
