We have several boogie boards for children. We bought this boogie board for my toddler (8 year old) who wanted a smaller size when traveling. After several trips, she is very satisfied with the size. Pros: The contrast is the same as the larger version. We found the pen holder design better on this boogie board than on the larger 8.5-inch version. We had to attach a rope to the handle for the larger board to keep the handle from disappearing into a bag, car, or hotel. Cons: The writing area is too small for many games we play (e.g. Hangman) or for homework.
