When I made the transfer from an AMD Athlon X2 6000+, I was hoping for a better experience. Nothing has changed in terms of the time it takes for Windows to load or for programs to begin running. As a gamer, I can't help but be ecstatic at the exponential growth of FPS. Time to turn down the heat. I've read comments stating the need for pricey cooling systems. You need "expensive" cooling if 800r for my Ice Hammer IH-4405 cooler is deemed "expensive" haha. Surprisingly (to me, at least), this processor runs around 5 degrees cooler than my previous one (also noted above). On the contrary, I anticipated warmer temperatures. It has not been measured yet, however under load the temperature of idling 28 is NOT TOO HIGH! I also had to swap out the PSU for him. Those using power supplies of 600 watts or less will, unfortunately, have to deal with the same issue. I bumped it up to 750, and now the computer stays on under load, whereas before it would shut down.
