I literally pulled off Engineering Pass and after a difficult descent in the rain and gathering darkness I saw the Autobahn. It's time to shift from low to high range, but when I'm idling, the shifter pops off in my hand like a spoiled Donald Duck cartoon. I let go of the clutch pedal and in fact it's actually in 'Neutral'. Taking a flashlight and a Phillips screwdriver, I removed the outer rubber boot and was glad to see that the transfer case linkage was intact. I straightened the OEM version of this part with the same screwdriver so I could slide the shifter back on the linkage. The rest of the way home I debated how to install the set screws or perhaps secure the lever to the linkage with a roll pin. When I got home I looked up the part number and immediately found it for sale here on Revain. No creative investment was required, the necessary part was readily available and inexpensive. Thanks to Revain and Omix-ADA. The part was perfect in combination with the new gear lever isolator J3241481 (rubber bushing).
