Let me show you the scene: I arrive at the Los Angeles airport, turn on my GPS system and I'm ready to navigate straight away. Then I spend two days driving around Los Angeles, not knowing where everything is and never getting lost. As stated in the title of my review, the Nuvi 255 is all you need. Don't spend more because you think you need to speak for navigation or that you want to connect with a navigation service or whatever they sell. It's a small, FAST device that's easy to carry around when not in the car. And folks, this is part of a portable GPS system: you can take it with you so it won't be stolen. I will issue the following warning. The first calibration of the GPS system can take up to 10 MINUTES. Be patient, stand in a large open space and don't move the device. just let it sit After this initial setup, you'll be walking in the sun. Secondly, it is easy to charge the device. All you need is a standard USB cable, which is used for most electronic devices. The downside is that once the loading is complete, the screen doesn't show a progress bar. Third, when you turn it on, make sure you have a good view of the sky from all angles. Otherwise, the system may not initialize correctly. If you are in a city with tall buildings, you may not have good signal luck (e.g. New York, Philadelphia, Chicago). Difficulties usually arise during initial inclusion. After that everything is great. This device FAST recalculates routes. Just a few seconds and boom and you're back on track. No downtime. It's really adorable. You have the option to navigate as a pedestrian or in a vehicle. It's really great if you walk. You can easily switch between the two. my advice. SPEND THE MONEY to get 255 with Text-to-Speech. When driving in traffic in an unfamiliar place, you don't have to constantly look around to read the street names on your device and then find them on the road. It costs extra money. All in all I would recommend this to anyone and everyone. As I told a friend today, it's not often that my expectations are met or exceeded when I shop for electronics. As long as I use it, new things keep surprising me.
