UPDATED 8/9/19. After I sent my initial feedback, the seller contacted me and apologized for the hinge body failure issue. They offered to send me a new mount. I got a new mounting arm and it holds up very securely, just like the original. I had no problem loosening the hinge mounting bolt, but I haven't had to move it since I installed it on my new car either. Hopefully this mount will last longer than the original mount. I must say that the seller provided excellent service in support of their product which seems a rarity these days. Glory to them for that! I have upgraded my rating to 4 stars (from 2) for excellent service. If the product continues to work well I would consider upgrading the rating to 5 stars. Time will tell if he deserves it. FIRST REVIEW: First off, the charger and suction arm worked well for several months. The only complaint I've had so far is that the motorized levers creak a bit when opening and closing the phone. Small complaint and not a deal killer. The suction cup was amazing and never let go of the mounting wheel on my dashboard even when the temperature in the car was over 100. I recently bought a new car and was trying to find the right place to put the suction cup. I found that the hinge nut had broken off a few pieces of plastic in the hinge housing so I couldn't tighten or loosen the hinge. So now it just rattles. I finally managed to get the nut out but there is no way to tighten the loop anymore. So unless the lever is firmly seated against the base of the suction cup, it will never tip properly. Luckily I still had the vent mount and just tried that out. I was really worried that the vent mount would just point my phone down towards the shifter due to the weight of the charging base and phone, but so far it seems pretty stable. I'll have to drive it for a few days to see if it moves, but so far so good. Very disappointed with the suction arm. The hole for the hex nut should be tight through, but the bottom of the hole that the nut sits in only seems to have a couple of thin plastic ribs that should hold the nut in place when tightening the thumbwheel. , but it is clear that they are not up to the task. Cannot recommend this product unless they fix this design flaw and give the collet nut more contact area.
