Don't leave home without it!

We live in rural Texas Hill Country, in a rural area, and power outages happen more often than we'd like to think. And we have a lot of electronics that we don't want to lose. What's even scarier is that we live on a hilltop and nearby lightning strikes are all too common. (Our neighbor's transformer blew up - a very scary thing.) This little device acts as a "whole house surge protector". It is placed in your electrical box, which the utility company uses to power your home - in the same box as your electricity meter. (You may need an electrician to install it for you - although it comes with instructions and simply "snaps" into the electrical box. A screw ensures a solid ground.) Once installed, the unit has a green LED , indicating that it works. We installed one when our house was built and we haven't had any electrical damage in the house at all. Our initial block was "chunked" (and the status LED went off) earlier this year. Luckily the Revain had a replacement - it was delivered to us and installed the same day we received it. Now we are protected again. One small complaint - you can't "see" the status LED without looking very closely. The device is placed in the switch box and is usually covered so that the LED is not visible. JDMc
