Review on 🚚 M-Parts SW5: High Capacity 5-Leaf Double Eye Trailer Springs for 5,200/6,000 Lb Axles - 2 Included by Adewole Sherman

So first let me say that I have previously ordered a similar but slightly lighter pair of these feathers from the same company. I was happy with the look of these feathers but only used them a couple of times before I sold the trailer (about 6 months) so I never saw them last. However, when these springs (4 in total) arrived, I was very disappointed to find that all the springs were already rusted. Two of them were really bad. This was very frustrating because I was short on time and couldn't order an alternative or replacement and wait for it to arrive. So my only choice was to completely disassemble all 4 springs, use a wire brush to remove as much rust as possible, and then coat them with a rust converter/rust converter. Then he covered all the layers with an anti-corrosion compound. So after an extra $30-$40 and about 2 extra hours of work spread out throughout the day, I felt confident enough to put them on my trailer. They feel solid and I'm sure they will hold the weight. Also, just a note, I don't know much about metallurgy, but looking at some of the sheets in the light, do they look slightly "cracked" or at least have some added texture, like they're pressed together from recycled metal? And also one of the bushings was mounted very badly and broken at one end (see photos). I definitely DO NOT believe that this level of overhaul should be necessary before you can use the product and I probably won't be ordering from M-Parts. again thanks to this experience. Replacing the trailer hitch on a tandem axle trailer is no easy task and definitely not something I want to do yearly due to rusting springs. That's why I pay a little more and get something better in the future. I don't know if M-parts is purposely selling cheap junk to people and just hoping it's cheap enough that people don't care or care. I don't even know because they order supplies from China and send directly to the customers without any monitoring or quality control. But in any case, the customers suffer. Too bad.
