Dirty and uncomfortable

The box it came in seemed torn but then they fixed it with lots of tape. My cats are very uncomfortable and refuse to use the door (they are used to going in drawers with doors). Also, every time I take the tray out to clean, most of the dirt falls off the bottom of the tray and makes a huge mess.
