Review on Cisco Linksys WRT54G2 Wireless G Broadband Router by Sean Reddy

I like the look of this router. It's so slick compared to most others I've seen and the wifi seems to work great throughout the house. I have four wired desktop computers (PC and Mac) and one wireless laptop that need to share an internet connection. I've also set up the Wii to connect to the internet through it, an iPod and a Brother MFC-490cw wireless color inkjet multifunction printer. (It's great to be able to print to the same printer from all computers, even a wireless laptop.) The range is very good. We have a fairly large house with upstairs and downstairs, and the laptop worked anywhere I carried it without losing connectivity. And it was easy to set up, although I've never done it before. One of the nicest things about this router is that it's easy to set up. I am a 59 year old female without much networking experience and was able to connect wireless laptop and wired desktop computers and connect 2 Vonage Phone Adapters Vonage VDV21-VD - Router - VoIP Gateway - EN, Fast EN between RCA DCM425 DIGITAL CABLE MODEM cable modem ( RCA DCM425) and this router and everything worked from the start. The hardest part was climbing onto the tables and threading cables around them for wired computers. The router part was easy. The kit includes a CD with all the instructions you need for a simple setup, even some advanced security features. Connecting the Wii took about 3 minutes. And now I can see the news and weather on my Wii and play games over the Internet. My iPod recognized the router the first time I turned it on to connect. I just entered my passwords and voila! tied together. I can go down to the mailbox halfway from home and still not lose touch. And he stays in touch anywhere in the house with no problem. I feel like I've finally arrived in the 21st century. I was really amazed that everything was so easy and I regret that I sat on the box for 3 days and played around with the setup thinking it was going to be really difficult, confusing and time consuming. This took about 10 minutes. Two thumbs up for this router!
