Review on Enhanced Performance Cardone 96-8741 New Power Steering Unit: Unparalleled Steering Excellence by George Cochran

Everything was great - packaging, no leaks, o-ring kit etc. I installed it, filled it with fluid and the appropriate one Unit vents procedure and new fluid. However, this pump howls for a few seconds upon startup and then sounds normal. Sometimes I also hear a faint whine when driving. Fluid level is good. I don't know what to do as it is very difficult to remove the pressed pulley and pump to try to return them. I kept the old one which sounds good (the reservoir was leaking due to the pitted surface of the o-ring). When this noise gets too loud, I swap out the Kardon pump for my old one. At least it's not dripping.
