I like the new cord because my wife is happy that the cord is 5-6 feet longer than the original. I'm concerned about durability because it's very similar to the original in terms of material and the original undercut Shark's price very quickly. The installation went smoothly. Yes there are a lot of screws but when you are ready to put them back together they will all line up nicely. I went to get proper wire clamps. I used 18-22 gauge 3/16" fittings from an auto parts store, which are slightly different than the factory fittings. The entire job, including the trip to the parts store, took less than an hour and a half. A tip: if all the screws are out and the switch is not disassembled, there is a small tab that needs to be unhooked. I used a flathead screwdriver and gently pry it out. Additionally, removing all the filters from the canister and removing the tube and hose greatly simplifies the process.
