Review on 50-Quart FoodVacBags Mylar Aluminum Foil Storage Bags: Heat Seal, Long-Term Preservation, 8" x 10 by Erin Wright

Aluminised Mylar Pack of 50L VacFood Bags - For Indoor Vacuum Cleaners Only. Food Storage Packers

I regularly use a vacuum food preserver to seal portions of food for freezing or long term storage. I was hoping that this pack of 8" x 10" quart size Mylar-coated opaque bags (pics 1 and 2) would be useful for my purposes. I have found that these pouches will NOT work with either of my two standard consumer vacuum food savers. There are no vacuum channels in the bags (Figs 3 & 4) to allow the machine to suck air out - I've tried several times with both of my machines without sucking the air out of the bag. Also, they didn't seal completely even when the seal button was pressed twice (Figure 5) on both my original F**dSaver brand and a newer similar machine from another brand. There was air in the bag, but my machine showed vacuum and tightness. At best, only a partial seal was achieved with no venting. Review EDITED: I've recently started using the Vesta Vacuum Food Sealer (SUPERB Appliance) which allows me to place this bag in the chamber of the vacuum tool, apply a strong vacuum and seal. These mylar bags worked very well with this premium food vacuum sealer. In the last photo #6, the coffee beans are sealed in one of these bags using a chamber vacuum sealer. Therefore, they don't work for traditional food sealants. But they WORK with a camera vacuum sealer so I've changed my rating to 5 stars and recommend. I hope you found the information and my review helpful.
