Links to keep handy.[.][.]Honestly I'm comparing this to my 17 year old Kenmore (Sears) Whisper-tone Deluxe (renamed from panasonic). Bought in 1997, it was "the best stand Sears had to offer for $275". It's time to take a new one. So when writing this review, keep in mind that the benchmark is a much older device. Advantages: - Lighter than a whisper - As quiet as a whisper. I've noticed that $150 racks seem to have good isolation - noise and suction. - Multiple tools - The extended hose is a good length, 6-8ft versus 11ft on my kit - Incredible suction on bare and carpeted floors. - onboard storage - onboard tools are well arranged - rubber grommet at entry for securing furniture, walls etc - extra long power cord - better than my Sears - and had a long cord - extension cord has a torque lock to prevent breakage - parts are more reasonably priced compared to Kenmore (pile filter $18, belt flaw: - handle is a bit flimsy when rotating or changing vacuum direction - hose and power cord tend to twist around each other due to limited clearance at handle - pneumatically powered hand tool is difficult to use, remove/attach to hook for storage - I expect this will be the first item to break - plastic body and handle is not as thick as the sear (the sear seems more durable) but in 17 years of plastic technology and durability have improved - a slotting tool not designed to expand a telescoping rod - it did o my old vertical sears are more efficient. Overall: I used it for the first time today - I will update if necessary. Grip and overwhelming plastic parts. If it survives more than 5 years. I'm gonna be happy. BTW: I bought this unit from Walmart for $157, not Revain - at the time of writing this review, Revain was selling for $206.
