Review on Teac TN-400S Turntable In Walnut - L1NS06102209 by Rich Rickenbaugh

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Why buy the TEAC TN-400S over a less expensive turntable?

I love this turntable! The design is beautiful. The walnut look with the matte finish metal looks fantastic. The build quality is solid. The platter has a nice weight to it and spins evenly. The arm has a weight balance and anti skate adjustment. Compared to the less expensive turntable I tried before this I have no reservations in recommending this despite the much higher price. I bought an Audio Technica AT-LP60WH-BT turntable but it had problems right from the start. From the initial assembly you could see the platter was not spinning flat. And there were no tone arm adjustments. All of the components felt lighter in weight because of the plastic parts. The most important part, the sound, was no contest. The sound coming from the Teac was smoother than the Audio Technica. While I wish it had automatic start and finish functions I still have no reservations in highly recommending this turntable. Five stars!

  • Turntables
Cons
  • Not as durable as other turntables in the same price range
