Surprisingly, the zipper is made of plastic.
I would give this one 5 stars but it's a plastic zip not metal, I had a similar one but the zip broke after about 14 or 15 years. I will buy more than gifts for friends and family.

- Unused but looks good!
Cons
- The belt may be uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time.
