It was so confusing! My daughter wears a size 3 in most of her youth shoes. We got these and they were definitely too small. The only problem is that they were so wide and free. Her sock was full in the front so we knew she needed a larger size. We returned them and got 4. There wasn't much room in the sock but it was good enough to wear, but unfortunately they are wide and thick. They'll fall right off her feet if she steps at all. You will look weird if you make the laces too tight. They look like old Etnie/DVS shoes. Overall she loves them because they are pink and shiny and they can ride anywhere. Our dogs ate the blankets when you take the wheels off so that sucks but I don't think she plans on ever taking the wheels off.
