Review on 🧡 The Mini Lap-Stitch Frame for Images Stitchery Design by Carla Anderson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

See update at the end of the review. One end broke along the grain of the wood.

Finally usable for the first time, after several hours of sewing, one end simply broke in two halves. Heck, I had high hopes for this product and it was quite expensive. I bought it about 5 months ago so I can't return it. I also found that the knobs didn't want to screw on easily. I also didn't like that the bars had to be stapled. I have used split bar frames in the past which I have found to be better. Overall, while it's nice, I think it has some design and quality flaws. Update: I contacted the manufacturer and sent them a photo, when I picked up the parts I received a chip from an undamaged pole. He was starting to split along the fiberline at the edge, so he took a picture of that problem as well and sent him that too. He immediately sent me a replacement. So far, so good. I also have his large frame bars which I have used a lot but are currently in stock. I'm wondering if the wood for my faulty set somehow dried out or something? I also sometimes worry that the handles might get stuck, if that happens and the fabric can't be unwound, I will have no choice but to cut the fabric. So I revised my rating and added stars. I still prefer split rods. But I think that's a matter of taste. The tripod I normally use my spreader bar system on no longer works for me due to my disability. I need to raise my legs so I need an overlap stitch system.
