Good quality product, the price is commensurate with the quality.

For whom mythical technical parameters are important, as someone wrote here, then pay attention to other lenses. Who is afraid of the price - too. But in fact, if you take it not for fun, but with a serious intention to get a consistently excellent result, and if you use all its properties at 100%, then the 105th will not disappoint. On the crop, by the way, it also gives a beautiful picture, but of course you can feel all the charm in full frame.
By the adequacy of the price, I put 4/5 - you always want cheaper =)

Pros

Universal lens. Both macro and portraiture rolled into one. Many people will like it. Convenient design. Switching focus from automatic to manual is instantaneous, in addition, there is a corresponding switch on the body - this is the heritage of the ultrasonic motor. Again, the motor allows you to quickly and tenaciously focus. The number of misses is minimal. Sometimes the vibration suppression system helps out. When shooting slowly, it is better to turn it off, but when shooting a reportage, it helps a lot. Technical bells and whistles and a sturdy body make the lens versatile, but what really deserves respect for it is the drawing. In addition to being sharp, clear, it also has a wonderful blur. A very beautiful drawing. After 70-200 f / 2.8, the quality of the 105th is visible, although the Nikon 70-200 f / 2.8 is almost the standard for reportage zoom.

Cons

Disadvantages, disadvantages . Yes, they are. In reality, the aperture is not f / 2.8, but "changes" depending on the focusing distance. This is somewhat annoying, although, I understand that this is nonsense and nit-picking. =) Maybe even the price. But believe me, if you shoot portraits or macro, it's hard to find a better tool. It is customary to pay for quality.
