My long and messy history with MP3 players, the Classic 64MB was my first. With a reasonable price and the ability to play about 20 songs, it seemed suitable for a beginner. The interface for downloading music is very user-friendly and the sound quality is very good. However, like many other electronic devices I have had issues with, the durability of this product has become an issue. First, the Classic doesn't have an impressive body as it appears to be made from the cheapest plastic available. Second, the battery cover is so poorly designed that it is very troublesome to detach it to replace the battery, resulting in damage to the battery cover. Finally, the internal design is not perfect, since strong vibrations (e.g. when running) will cause this player to skip noise. It's a solid music player, which means there are no moving parts. This shouldn't have happened unless the internal circuitry was worn out. There are many other low-cost, low-capacity providers on the market. I would highly recommend trying them instead of Classic.
