Review on Canon EOS 6D Body camera, black by Avut Ball Jitrada (B ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best thing for the money, Im glad I chose this option.

I use this camera as my main camera for cycling trips, I visited Iceland with it in the summer under heavy rains. The camera lives up to my expectations, although there is still room for improvement. Auto-ISO with indication in the viewfinder, improved interface, more convenient and logical control, a lot of settings - all this greatly simplifies working with the camera in reportage mode. Low noise is pleasing - here ISO 25600 can be used quite freely if noise suppression is taken care of. Autofocus picks up objects even in such darkness, where they are almost invisible to the eye. The mRAW mode disappointed me in terms of quality - I assumed that this would be the main mode for shooting non-critical photos (10 MP is enough for the eyes), but in fact the pictures turn out frankly soapy, worse than 5D. It remains to shoot in regular RAW, where each frame weighs 25 MB. Despite the overall excellent control of the camera, there are also small unpleasant jambs, however, not very disturbing when shooting (especially in RAW): 1. The current picture quality is not displayed on the top screen. 2. There are no direct buttons for setting the white balance and flash compensation. 3. Some used functions are hidden in the menu. For example, to connect via Wi-Fi to a phone or PC, you will have to delve into the menu for quite some time, especially if you have previously connected to something else. 4. When viewing photos, you need to click on the magnifying glass to access the magnification. I like the Wi-Fi and GPS features. Conveniently, the camera can automatically merge photos to the computer (and immediately display them on the screen) during the shooting process. GPS is also useful in small outings when I don't have a navigator with me. The process of discharging the battery with all these features can be tracked in the menu that indicates the charge with an accuracy of a percentage (and not "full" - "half-empty" - "empty", as on old cameras). It is very convenient that several batteries can be attached to the camera, and it will remember the charge of each of them. In general, the camera is excellent, albeit with minor flaws.

Pros
  • Full frame (with all the ensuing pluses) for a reasonable price, excellent autofocus performance in the dark, the camera is quite compact and light, low image noise, quiet shutter operation, high ease of use compared to old cameras, moisture protection.
Cons
  • Minor flaws in the interface and controls, too large RAW files with a small increase in quality, poor-quality mRAW format.
